My HTC Evo broke a while back after I dropped it one too many times, but I continued to use it for another six months. I’ve since moved on to the beloved Samsung Galaxy S3, but that’s not the point. The other day I was digging through old pictures I took on the Evo, and I found this:
I guess my phone’s camera was freaking out in all kinds of ways in that dim bar lighting, but I love the effect.
The lovely woman in the picture is Amy, performing at an open mic night at Tiffany’s Tavern here in Alexandria. Amy is a boss. The girl is beautiful and hilarious, plays hockey, loves Wayne’s World, sings at open mic nights, isn’t afraid to travel the world by herself, is a fantastic dancer and ballroom coach, teaches English to immigrants… the list goes on and on. Makes you want to get off the couch a bit faster, right?
Here’s a more normal picture from that night:
Oh, and by the way, when this picture was taken Amy had only been learning to play the guitar for a few weeks. She rocked it. How many people would have stalled doing something like an open mic night until they’ve “perfected” something for years? An excellent reminder to have no fear and just do the things you love!
