Wait for it…
I mean, you gotta admit, the dog just steals the show.
While Joe is in North Dakota we keep in touch in a very nerdy way. We get on Skype and watch Coursera lectures together.
Right now we’re watching Peter Struck’s “Greek and Roman Mythology” course, which is how I came across Jacques-Louis David‘s The Farewell of Telemachus and Eucharis. I’m really enjoying the class, as I’ve enjoyed pseudo-participating in a variety of MOOCs so far. Joe sleeping in front of the computer in the above shot is not a reflection of the lectures, I promise. He’s just very, very sleepy. And I’m very, very boring on Skype.
Peter Struck, by the way, is Ted Mosby. I mean that in the best way possible.
Also, how sweet is this God? Joe thinks he’s throwing up. I, for one, fancy him eating super long noodles.
Ok, now I’m off in a Coursera- and meetup-inspired craze, reading (or re-reading) the Iliad, the Odyssey, Midnight’s Children, Moby Dick, Kafka on the Shore, Things Fall Apart, oh no no no no literature explosion bye
