Families flock to Alexandria’s Dyke Marsh for a little biological bonding. Sunlight brings out the wild green of the grass and trees, making you forget (for a second) that you’re a glance away from the most powerful place on Earth. Bugs crawl over stumps, kids swing orange plastic bats at oversized balls thrown by fathers and learn the limits of their lumpy, uncoordinated bodies. Moms blow raspberries on bellies. Pretty nice, all in all…especially for a marsh.
